There are two Benny Hill compilation DVD's, one from HBO that is two discs and one from Anchor Bay that is 87 minutes.
Anyone have these? Do either have material from the other? How are they? I'm inclined to get both if the material is different.

1st episode was good. That Clarence is as stupid as they come. A big, dumb brick. Why give that lady food when you know she's the one that goes that night? Was he that hungry? The man's days are numbered.
And how dumb can they be, dumping out that water?! Didn't they watch the last...
After all, the TV series is addictive and I worry about them side black bars burning into my 47" Panny HDTV. I truly wish a technology could be invented to give us 40" to 75" TV's that will never suffer burn-in, but at current RPTV prices.
This boxed set is really something I must have, of...
Because of the massive amount of FOX News my father views, I have decided he should not get a Rear Projection HDTV, because he'll suffer burn-in within weeks of delivery.
So that leaves the 32" to 36" direct view option, which is kind of crummy, because they don't want to go for less than 36"...
I saw one of these some years back. It was as awful as anything I had ever seen. Truly terrible filmmaking on a level of bad few films can aspire to.
Horrordvds.com has a review of the Anchor Bay release of the SS film in the series. It has some, um, interesting screen caps...
Why I thought this was 16x9 I do not know. But it was $9, so the loss isn't too bad. But my God! They clearly took an old laserdisc transfer for this DVD. The image is soft, grainy, murky, with poor shadow detail. Detail is wanting and the image just looks like ass. Utterly disgraceful.
Making...
I disliked the film (RH2) and much prefer the original, but I'll have to rent this to see the trailers. They are 16x9 and 5.1 according to the digital bits. The second trailer & the final trailer are the ones included.
Apologies if this has ben mentioned elsewhere. I did not see a thread...
Question. Do you decrease the video bit rate by allowing audio track switching on the fly?
It is my understanding that if you have two soundtracks (DD5.1 & DTS), you can disable audio switching, so that only one is up at a time, allowing more bits for the picture.
If both can be had at any...
This is looooong, but worth a read for fans of Jackie Chan. Please message me with any errors you find or additional information you may have that I can add to the review.

I hada hard time believing it, but apparantly it is true. the girl has turned into a pathetic drug addict. Just how in the hell do these people get this way? She is 36 years old and did how many anti-drug episodes on her stupid TV show? Amazing.

Can't say as we are surprised. Let's just hope that the deleted footage is presented, at least as an extra.

I spent one hour last night going through the first 15 minutes of the film, comparing the LD to the DVD and I found some striking differences.
The DVD is recorded with the soundtrack slightly louder than the LD. I'd say about 2 to 3 db. I found this while matching dialogue, not sound effects or...
Thank the Lord! My JVC SVHS deck worked as it should and recorded the 2 AM showing of SHOUT AT THE DEVIL, which was in the widescreen format. Why AMC insists on running the pan & scan versions during reasonable hours (like 8 PM) I do not know. But just 5 minutes of the cropped version of this...
My plan with Verizon is over soon and I am curious as to what other plans are out there. What do other NE U.S. folks have? My plan is discontinued. 250 daytime minutes. Unlimited nights and weekends (after 8PM Monday-Friday, all day Saturday & Sunday).
I was looking at Verizon's website and it...
A good friend of mine is moving to a new apartment and wants to set up surround sound. He has very little money but he really wants something to experience DVD's with DD5.1 when he buys a DVD player.
He's asked if it is possible to buy a DD5.1 receiver with speakers and subwoofer for just...
(MODERATOR'S NOTE on 5/10/02: This thread was started shortly after September 11, based partly on a news report about possible revisions to Ocean's 11. Much of the discussion is badly out of date now that the film has been released to theaters and on DVD. For a discussion of what changes were...
Right now I need to pre-order the following: French Connection 2 disc SE, The Terminator SE, Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Doctor Zhivaga, Lone Wolf McQuade, The Godfather set and Star Trek The Motion Picture! Nearly all of these come out on seperate dates, so I need to pay shipping for each...

As is well known, his latest film involves a plot to blow up the TWC. That story is being rewritten.
Thank the Lord he wasn't there that day. The film world would have lost one of its all time greatest performers.

To think that I can watch one of my favorite B movies, THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF, on DVD next year, with a Roger Moore commentary! It doesn't get any better than that!
Well, not tonight anyway.
I am glad others asked about the original soundtrack to HIGHLANDER and those terrific music...
My ISP is going on the fritz, so anyone asking about HIGHLANDER, ca you include thefollowing question...
"Can you please include the Original soundtrack to this film, as it includes lines of dialogue left out of the 5.1 mix? Fans of the film want this soundtrack. Please no 2.0 downmix from the...
They send you the DVD only. You keep the case.

I think this is wrong. If they want to change the location of where the moon rocks fall, fine. But hacking it out of the picture when it IS a key scene is just nuts. What's next, removing explosions from DIE HARD and burning the negative to THE SEIGE?
