Bad timing, Ron. I started vacation on Friday and was not keeping up with the forum.

Well of course a majority of iPhone users want a bigger screen.

That has been expressed ad nauseam in this thread.

I don't think people are too happy with the leaked design that
looks as if the iPhone were stretched out with a rolling pin.

That was the basis of my decision to go with an Android phone.

Of course, if Apple surprises us with something even better
than that, I still have time to get my money back -- but I doubt
they will.

You changed from iPhone to Galaxy for what again?

Google the Galaxy S3, Crawdaddy.

Bigger and wider screen. Not just taller which is
what the iPhone 5 will bring.

I can actually read a webpage with this phone
instead of squinting at it.

I can customize the hell out of it without jailbreaking.

Just got bored with iOS and its introduction of
features that were already previously in Android phones.

Now, not to say Android is superior. iOS is perfect
for people that need a phone that works well for them.
Android is for people that like to tinker and customize
the phone the way they want it.

Pure crazy talk. You are in an echo chamber or your own making. Maybe bit fiddling geeks aren't too happy but regular people will be pleased as punch, even if there are some early developer frustrations with the new form factor, assuming that is real.
Last 4 quarters of iPhone sales: 17, 37, 35 and 26 million. Wanna place bets on the delta between last year and this year's sales?

I think that weird iPhone shape is too wacky to be fake unfortunately.

I will probably stick with the iPhone platform. I went to the store and looked at a Galaxy S3. Yes it's a bigger screen. But for web-intensive viewing, I think I'll be going with an iPad (maybe the slightly smaller rumored iPad coming out in October). For on-the-fly viewing the iPhone's screen is fine for me, and the S3 didn't improve my web experience to the point where I wouldn't be tempted to buy an iPad.

Yet you lose all of your rollover minutes and your ability to sync with your Apple equipment including your iPad?

Come on, Sam, you know better. Stop the hyperbole.

Sales aren't going to be greatly affected, but we have been
reading it here and on other fan boards about people switching
to other phones because they are tired of iOS or small screen
size. There is definitely more conversation these days about how Apple
can improve the iPhone screen experience.

I spent hours researching this phone, pouring across Internet forums reading
hundreds of posts from people that had the iPhone and switched to Android.
Most all the reasons pointed to a tired iOS and small screen factor. And before
you go ahead and criticize fanboys on websites, realize these are the people,
like me, who take their smartphones very seriously.

I know hearing someone slam iOS and iPhone screen size is hard to swallow,
but that is not what I am trying to do. I am an Apple fanboy first and foremost.
I just want to see what else is out there .

Not at all, mostly.

You keep the plan you already have. You are still on AT&T.

Also, you can sync with your Mac device, though I am still in the midst
of making certain of that.

Yesterday I successfully set up a IMAP account with my iCloud address
and all my Apple mail folders went right on over to GMAIL. When I deleted
an email from one device, it deleted from another.

The Contacts and Calendar syncing is supposed to be even easier to do
since it is done with Google syncing.

What you do lose is syncing of Apps. However, not all apps you buy on
the iPhone is automatically free on the iPad.

I forgot to mention that the battery is removable and replaceable, and you
can add up to 64GB memory to the rear slot.

Listen, if Apple knocks our socks off on the 12th, this phone is going back
and I only pay a $35 restocking fee. I am just taking the opportunity to
compare phones so I can make a more educated choice.

What a person spends their money on is their business. I was just wondering your reasoning as you brought up those issues I noted beforehand as to why you would stick with the iPhone. Actually, I hope more people buy this Galaxy as I might be able to get the new iPhone 5 on the 12th.

Have I ever told anyone who say they actually own the phone and like it that they are crazy or wrong? Would never do that. If people buy based on the bigger screen and like it after a month of owning it, then good on them. Enjoy and go nuts.
Do I believe that folks who have a lizard brain desire for bigger phones just because they are bigger or for the ability to tweak or steal apps before they actually own a phone might not be really satisfied with the end results? Absolutely.
Do I believe those self same tweakers will feel a twinge of regret roughly every 4 months as bigger and tweakier android phones are released? Absolutely.
Do I believe the promise of open android has been so bastardized as to be meaningless? Absolutely.
Do I believe that Android has worse apps and less innovative app development? Absolutely. And the focus on Free Apps on Android continues to drain that swamp.
Do I believe that the only android devices even worthy of consideration are those that are Google sanctioned or who make it their own (ala Fire). Absolutely. Honestly anything before Jelly Bean just wouldnt have cut it for me, and even that needs help, especially the browser.
But everything is tradeoffs. If a buyer knows the tradeoffs and is happy with their choice, fantastic. I have 4 android devices of my own now (Nexus7, Fire, Vita and Fridge) and in a world where Apple did not exist I might be a mix of frustrated and satisfied with those devices. If I had to choose one I'd stick with iOS.

Your rollover minutes are attached to your contract, not your device. I've changed devices numerous times and never lost rollover minutes.
