I'm 908 as of today. Just over 600 are blu-ray. I still have a handful of HD-DVDs, and the rest are DVDs.

Not counting the 50 or so laserdiscs in the closet.

Let's just say I have a better selection than most video stores (if there still were video stores). I scoff at Netflix's puny selection.

As of today, 470 BD's (including pre-orders), 80 DVD's (waiting to be replaced with BD's when and if they are released in BD format).

I only buy/collect movies I love and have watched/will watch. No interest in having something "just to have it" or something I've watched but didn't like. Some stats on my collection:

Strongly overrepresented: Epic, Film-Noir, Heist, War, Western
Overrepresented: History, Holiday, Imaginary, Melodrama, Musical, Mystery, Psychological thriller, Romance
Underrepresented: Dark humor, Horror, Martial arts, Supernatural, Surreal
Strongly underrepresented: Anime, Comic book, Coming of age, Documentary, Erotic, Foreign, Music, Nature, Other, Short, Sport, Teen

Over 64% of my collection are pre-1980 titles, less than 4% are post-2010.....

Ive picked up like 20 or more BRs in the last 2 weeks, all movies ive been wanting to see & when I saw they were all under $10, I couldn't pass that up lol. I can always resell or give to my ada the ones I don't like enough to wanna keep.
