    Hi, everyone.

I'm new here, so please forgive me if this topic has been covered before (I searched the past few pages of this forum and couldn't find anything.)

Is there a thread and/or website that compares what is available in Region 1 versus other regions?

I'm interested because I just upgraded my player's firmware to region-free.

    Thanks!

Do a search for "Regional DVD FAQ" for a short list, but DVDTalk maintains a much better and more complete list

Not a website, but a book that does this very nicely is Nathaniel Thompson's DVD Delirium (published by Fab Press), which covers horror/scifi/cult items and tells what regions have the best extras, anamorphic, transfer, etc. Plus it's a fun read if you enjoy these kinds of movies. It's still quite current, with the most recent entries discs issued this summer. There's a 'volume 1' on the spine, so hopefully this will be a continuing series.

    try this for R4 comparisons:-

read carefully, though, often they'll say R4 is better solely on the NTSC v. PAL issue, on which YMMV.
