Well... I *like* hot/spicy food but can't stand "Buffalo sauce" (it tastes pretty much like Tobasco sauce that's had cayenne added to make it hotter for hot's sake) or "hot wings" (see Buffalo sauce comment). I also dislike anything with sour cream or buttermilk (making the "standard" ranch dipping sauce stomach turning for me).

Just give me well cooked fried chicken wings (no cayenne in the breading either as that's just "hot for hot's sake" - I generally want to taste the pepper as well as the heat) and I'll dip them in whatever sauce I'm desiring at the time (could be mild - could be hot - but *won't* be Tobasco based).

Just eat some properly fried chicken. Not deep fried but skillet fried.

I'll also have some spicy food if it's naturally spicy-- no hot sauce (to me, hot sauce makes even the best food far too hot).

I’m pleased that I’m finally home tonight after 19 straight days of out of state work. On Sunday, Dec 4th, I drove to Baton Rouge and spent the week. Friday, around noon, I drove from Baton Rouge to San Antonio (hence my instant hatred for Houston rush hour traffic) where I spent the last 12 days working 12 - 14 hours per day (overnights 7PM - 7-9AM) and finally driving back home from San Antonio today, trying to beat the winter storm. I’m home now with beers and a Red Barron pizza.

Christmas Eve 40oz! Wifey didn’t feel good today so she took some medicine and is laying down getting some rest. I’m about to go off to the HT and watch my new copy of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves on 4K UHD from Arrow UK, followed by Wargames on 4K UHD.

I watched Pulp Fiction on 4K UHD yesterday evening and it was an audio visual feast!

Well, as usual, my movie watching plans got waylaid and I haven’t set foot in my HT all day. I’m just gonna go to bed so I can hurry up and get this day over with. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What pleased me is yesterday, I went to where the company truck is parked, and got it running to keep the diesel fuel from gelling, and having road repair coming to
get it started. It was below zero before the wind chill, and it took a little while to fire it up, but it did start. I let it run almost an hour to heat up the system. Going back to the truck shortly to heat it up again. It’s not quite as cold this morning, so it should start with not much of a problem.

Update- truck fired right up, as if there’s no unusually cold weather. Someone told me on New Year’s here in Kentucky, the forecast is for 60 degrees! 🤪

Over 30 years ago Stacy and I were parents to an umbrella cockatoo, I think that’s one in the video above. Bertha and other large birds like her are incredibly social birds and NEED companionship from their humans. We loved her so much. When home from work she was on her open perch (no cage). Every so often she’d climb down from her perch and March across the floor to where either I or Stacy was. We’d hold and love on her and scratch the back of her neck. Oh did she love that.

We had several cats and when Bertha made that trip across the floor the cats would part like she was Moses parting the Red Sea. I thought of giving her he nickname of Charlton.

After about a year she started to self mutilate her legs resulting in many trips to the vet (a bird specialist). We eventually realized that she was too lonely. Though her cage was equipped with many playthings, 5 days a week she was alone during the day and it caused her to mutilate her legs. We decided with great heartbreak, that we weren’t a good family for her. If one of us worked from home, it would have been ok, but….

After much searching the right home (not asking for any money), the solutions was right in front of us. The receptionist at our vet. She already had at an umbrella and she brought it to work, something we could not do. She got Bertha and all her gear. We just wanted Bertha to have a good home. Every so often at lunch I’d go to visit and Bertha never forgot me. One time it had been 6 months and when I walked in and reached out to her she gave me a coo filled with such emotion it made cry.

These birds ain’t no ordinary pet. They’re a helluva responsibility and they can live 50 years or more.
