I thought I had a pretty good handle on the basics of home theater stuff. Then I started reading this site regularly. Come to find out I WAS WRONG :)
Now I'm awash in terms like "deflection board" and "blooming point" and am a wee bit lost.
Can anyone point me towards a good site for definitions and further explanations of the components, technology, and terminology discussed in this forum?
Any assistance is appreciated.

I just found this web site. Haven't looked at all of it but seems to have the basics:

of course you can always do a search here or post your specific question!
you're already on one of the best sites on the net...why go elsewhere? :D
btw - not sure what a deflection board is, but "blooming" typically refers to a tv that's been configured with it's settings (typically brightness and contrast) too high. also known as "torch mode". instead of seeing a red t-shirt with wrinkles, all you'll see is a bright red "splotch"...all the details in the colors are lost.
btw - welcome to htf
