hi. this is goin to be my First home theatre purchase.

i have surfed a lot on the net and i found the reviews for KLIPSCH reference series impressive.

i want to make an HT out of the following

Klipsh RB-35
RC-35
RS-35
RW-10 (woofer)

i wana run those speakers on DENON 1804 reciever

i know that Klipsch uses HORNs in them , someone said that these speakers wont perform well unless they are cranked up to atleast half of the volume .and wont give a clear sound in low volumes .
some say that they are too bright
just wanted to know how much truth is in that.

another thing, If i compare JBL nortridge series with Klipsch reference series , which would be a better choice?

i know im a newbie :p in HT . wud appreciate ne advices and replies :)

thx

have you heard klipsch speakers? if not, you need to listen to them . then turn them past 'half volume' whatever that means. then play at low levels and hear if you have the same quality sound.

is this HT more for music or movies?

Klipsch speakers seem to be a taste....you'll either love them or not. For HT usage, I've not come across anything I like better....but that's me, it's you that they have to please. FWIW, the only thing I found better than my 13 year old Klipsch speakers I'm using now was the RF7's. Their subs are OK, but there are better units to be had in the same price range....especially for HT use. I just replaced my old SW10 with an SVS PC Ultra......great improvement in clarity and depth.

the info i got was from a local dealer. he had a good range of jbl speakers. and he was telling me all kinds of stuff about klipsch.

Im from Pakistan ,i live in karachi. in here we dont have much choices and the prices are high becoz of taxes and duties.

so i wanted to be careful for wut i was getting.

ill be using it mostly for MOVIES , but i lissen to a lot of ROCK music aswell..

thx for the replies .im feeling lot confident about my choice.
:D

but some more queries . wud Denon 1804 do justice with the speakers? i know Denon makes really good recievers

Denon and Klipsch mix very well imo and many others. Also the 1804 will work just fine with the 35's..

Well it's been awhile but I think I payed around $1800-$1900 for a pair of RB-75s C-7 and a pair of 35s.

MSRP on that setup would be about $2100 so it sounds like you're getting a pretty good deal....you're gonna love it:)
