After many questions (answered by these forums!) and tons of research here is what I got:
Harmon Kardon AVR 520
JBL S38II Front L/R
JBL SCII Center
JBL N24II Rear L/R
Dahlquist 15" subwoofer
Panasonic R82 DVD player
Paid $1574 delivered.
All of it came from www.JandR.com except the sub!
I can't wait to set it up!
Of course I will have many questions on how to do so!

Now the fun begins
Set up is fairly straight forward, but and SPL meter and calibration disk (i.e. Avia or Video Essentials) is considered by most here to be a crucial "upgrade".

Another good setup disc that is substantially cheaper than the ones recomended is Sound and Vision Home Theater Tune Up. I's made my ovation, the same company that makes Avia, and has all the test tones, clibrations, AV tests, advanced tests, and demonstrations that you would need. It retails for $20 and can be found for much less. I got my copy on ebay for $6. This combined with an analog SPL meter from radio shack is really a necesity for properly calibrating a quality home theater system.
