Soundbars: Difference in surround-sound decoders? (1 Viewer)

I've amassed some Best Buy gift cards from the holidays and am looking to put them toward a soundbar/subwoofer for my DLP. I've narrowed the choice between the Sony HTCT550W and Panasonic SCHTB520. BB's specs list both as capable of decoding Dolby Digital and DTS, but Sony also mentions Dolby True HD, Dolby True Mono, DTS 96/24, and DTS HD. I'm confused by all the extra terms. Does this mean if I have a Blu Ray mastered in, say, TrueHD, it would sound better on the Sony?

TrueHD and Master Audio found on BluRay discs are indeed better audio formats than the older Dolby Digital and DTS. I don't know much about soundbars but a quick look makes me think that Sony is much better than that Panasonic.
