If Mill Creek is using remastered versions won't putting more episodes per disc negate using remastered versions?

No. Mastering makes much more of a difference than disc authoring. Also, clean transfers compress easier than grainy noisy transfers do. Bitrate isn't as big of a deal as some people say. You can't judge video quality by numbers.

An "expert" encoder can probably do more with less.

Warner has been cramming 6 or 7 episodes per bluray disc over the past several years or so, without significant deterioration in picture quality. For example bluray shows such as: the entire Person of Interest series, Revolution, The Following, etc ...

Let's hope that Mill Creek has hired one of these "expert" encoders as a full-time employee.

(It would be a complete sham if Mill Creek took the cheap way out, and used a dumb passive program like Handbrake to do all their encoding/compression).
