New guy here pls help. 7.1 pre-wired theatre (1 Viewer)

So, I know nothing. I am getting 7.1 pre-wired in my home being built and I would like expert advice as to where to locate the ports for each speaker and what speakers, sub, amp to buy. my max for budget is 2000-2500. id prefer wall/ceiling mounted but it really doesn't matter. tv is going on west wall near fire place

Use in-walls for the front three speakers. It appears to me that that there is no side wall to the south, or no rear wall to the east, so you’re stuck with in-ceiling speakers for the surrounds. Locate them according to this diagram. If your ceilings are low, you’ll want to move them a bit closer to the sofa. Never used in-walls or in-ceilings myself, so I can't make a recommendation.

Surrounds on stands are also an option, if that's one you'd want to explore... probably not ideal for a family room, though.
