Hello all. First post here! Looking for some advice. I have researched this a bit myself and I am getting mixed information. I am finding my knowledge on this subject inadequate to make a good decision.

A few things about me and my preferences and/or sensibilities in this space.
  1. I am not an audio purist, in any sense. I just like good audio. (Reasonably good for a regular consumer.)
  2. I already have this system and just want to make the most of it.
  3. I am willing to compromise audio quality/integrity if it means keeping a system that will still sound better than a sound bar setup or something similar.
  4. I do understand that the conversion to in-wall will not be lossless.
I am building a new house and moving in the next 8 months. Our current home has a dedicated theater room. The new house does not. I have invested roughly $13k in a 7.2.4 speaker setup that I very much enjoy and would like to keep for use in my new living room. That said, we do not want visible speakers in the living room of the new house.

So, I would like to try to convert this system into an in-wall system. I have control over wall thickness and suck, since it is a custom house built. So, my main question is: How do I achieve this? and secondarily: How much loss in quality will there be?

The new house has built-in bookshelves on either side of a fireplace (where I intend to mount a 70 inch tv.) This is where I could hide/install the floor speakers, center speaker, and subs.

Then I can try to put the surround speakers in the walls maybe?

Any ideas, information would be very helpful.

The problem is, there is no such thing as “converting” regular speakers to in-wall. You seem to have mostly bookshelf speakers, which can go on a shelf, but several of them are rear ported, and restricting or eliminating those ports will have a substantial, negative effect on them.

Sorry, I missed the floor standing front speakers. Same problem, though even moreso.
