Before the end of the year I believe. Man, in the theater I was at there was some KILLER bass. Some badass cones were hidden somewhere in there So here's hoping for an excellent sounding DVD!
The Digital Bits is reporting a 12/11th street date in their Rumor Mill.

If it did indeed have dts 24/96 then that would mean that most of the earlier dvd players that have dts capability would not be able to play the dts track. Is that correct? Someone?

No no no, of course not. The 24/96 DTS track WILL play on all the dvd players that were originally equipped for it. It will sound the same as regular DTS.
Unless you have a receiver that is equipped to play 24/96 DTS. Those are few and far between now because this spec for DTS is brand new.
Do you have the new Denon 4802? Or are you going to be getting it when it comes out I mean? If you are, then yes you will hear this FULL 24/96 track. No, all dvd players will output the FULL signal regardless. It is just a question of whether you have the right receiver (preamp/prosessor) for the job.
All the current ones will play the DTS track at the regular 20/48.
hey Bjoern!!
btw, what happened to other dvd measurements you did in the past ? I don't seem the link active anymore. In particular, I would have liked to see again the charts of U-571. I think you plotted them.
cheers my friend
