As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I wanted to replace my setup (5.1: Energy Take 5 speakers, twin Energy 10" subwoofers, Sony STR-DB830 receiver) with something that represented a significant improvement but was still within my budget. Since I am now retired and on a fixed income, I figured it would probably be my last upgrade, greatly increasing its significance.
Based on many weeks of research, and on the valuable advice I have received on this webboard and others, here is the setup I now have:
Paradigm Monitor 5's (Front)
Paradigm CC-370 (Center)
Paradigm ADP-370 (Surrounds)
SVS PB12-NSD/2 (Sub)
Yamaha RX-V659 (Receiver)
Total cost: $3,003
And, thank you guys, it sounds great! Especially the SVS. It takes my setup from one that is every bit as good as I hoped it would be, to one that makes my guests say: wow!

ps. Anyone in the central Virginia area having as much difficulty as I did auditioning the equipment I've listed is welcome to come listen to mine. Just PM me.
