Edwin, thanks. It's fun finding out the latest critic's awards and posting them here. It will get overwhelming as the end of the year approaches.

The crazy thing about me doing these critics updates is that I've worked just over 52 hours in the last 6 days. That said, it's still fun finding out what the critics voted and posting them here.

Did Pauline Kael mentor someone in the Florida Film Critics group or something?

I'm starting to get deja vu everytime I see these critics awards. :)

Yes, the final tally will be compared to the year-end HTF membership Top 10s. Should be an interesting one.

Still waiting to see - M$Baby, Aviator, Maria, Daggers, Rwanda, Vera Drake. 5 of 11 with 2 others on deck isn't too bad I guess.

And doesn't Film Comment know that Dogville was one of the worst films of the year? I mean Ebert said so...(end sarcasm) :)

I've seen Maria and was unimpressed. Vera Drake already came and went here without me having a chance to see it. Still hope to see the others you mentioned Seth as well as many of the films currently out that I haven't had a chance to see.

I still keep checking on this thread hoping that someone, somewhere will recognize The Brown Bunny; still my pick for best American film of the year. But after the Cannes debacle and the critical re-evaluation following Gallo's re-edit, the film seems completely forgotten other than the recent appearance of BJ video and stills on the Internet.

Interesting #9 choice by Owen at EW. I know of one person who would be very happy to see that movie mentioned. :)
