I am shocked nobody mentioned one of the most popular series, Tex Murphy. These games had a great sense of humor, provided a good challenge and featured the latest in technology when released. I still never managed to finish Pandora's Box. I got stuck towards the end and when I replaced my computer my new soundcard was not compatible with the game.
I hope that eventually the long planned sequel to the last chapter is made but since that now seems unlikely I hope they re-release Under a Killing Moon and Pandora's Box in a way that makes it more compatible with Window's XP.
