I can taste all the flavors and the chillness in the heatwave was very nice as it was HOT outside.

those Yorkshire Puddings look great!

[/QUOTE]A like a Yorkie pudding.

I call this The Big Trouble In Little Noddles meal. I need a girl with green eyes. 7th April 2014, 4:15am meal.

Noodles microwaved in water for 8 mins. Tuna fish and mayonnaise with a little Newman's Own Creamy Cesar dressing and I save a bit of tuna fish for my cat.

It was THX approved which meets the highest standards. :P

Oh, btw, solution for the HEATWAVE! I bought these cheap ice popsicles on 18th July 2014, I was sweating like a hog in my home. I only had my underpants on as it was that HOT!

Finally packing up the freezer last Sunday, and its stuffed packed out. I prefer a ready meal once in while, that way I don't have to spare too much thought on what to cook, thou I would really prefer a nice cooked stew cooking for hours slowly.

Would it be an abuse of my Moderator power to ban and delete all microwave-meal photos? ;)

Iceberg right ahead lettuce some sliced tomatoes mayonnaise the chicken burger was cooked for 15 mins and last 2 mins I placed the bun in the microwave :P lol, I can't help laughing.

Put mayonnaise on the base warm bun and some lettuce then the chicken burger with some small mayonnaise and then some more lettuce sliced onion and tomato with a small bit of mayonnaise. It really did beat KFC.

I wanted my dad to do a backed tomato that is stuffed with meat and other spices, but he did the opposite to it. Still the tomatoes where juicy.

This is from a few months ago, when friends came over to play games. A cast iron-skillet seared filet (with butter compound), drop biscuits and broccoli.
Steak recipe is per Alton Brown
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/pan-seared-rib-eye-recipe.html

Drop Biscuits I think are ATK.

Broccoli, boiled for five minutes.

Looking forward to what everyone has to post through the holidays. We've clearly got some skilled amateur chefs here. I'm a total hack, with minimal skills. But I enjoy cooking, and am trying to improve my abilities and get back to enjoying it as its own activity (point of the journey is not to arrive, sort of thing).

Someone here mentioned Pizza?

Buy a cheap price Goodfellas Pizza and put my own extra toppings on it;

1888931_10152506228765149_238003040108793826_o.jpg

Sliced up some mushrooms and placed them in the acti-fryer for 10 mins to get that crispy golden colour and taste for the extra toppings on the pizza.

Placed some Anchovies on it and popped it in microwave on Oven Fan 180 degrees for 24 mins.

Oh Andy, where to even begin to respond...

#1, You can't cook pastry dough in a microwave  Microwaves are good for popcorn and reheating leftovers, they don't do "cooking".#2, Do you cook? Other than the tomato photos, looks like everything is from a box, can or a bottle (that really doesn't qualify as cooking).

#3, Your dad's stuff looks like nice, homemade cooking. Tasty and healthy. Learn from him. :)

You had one photo with fresh lettuce and an onion, so there is some hope.

Andy, not to be a pest, but one of your photos featured Val Kilmer. Have you seen what he looks like recently?

This could be you if you keep those kind of eating habits.

Today's effort: mixed grill, baked beans, and asparagus, tortellini and tomato salad. I really love ATK's recipe for the beans, they have some brown sugar but they aren't cloying like most canned baked beans. It was 105 degrees here today, but it was worth hovering over the charcoal outside; the meats had that wonderful charred flavor, the burgers were especially good.

For a while, I was an amateur recipe tester for ATK. They would send me an email with a link to a recipe, I would make it, and then fill out a rather lengthy questionnaire as to what I found easy or difficult, what I liked or didn't like about it, etc. There are two recipes that really stand out for me from those days. One is Chicken Enchiladas Verde, which is quite a process, roasting tomatillos and peppers, poaching chicken, rolling the enchiladas, etc., but so worthwhile. They are pictured here with Cuban style black beans, baked with a pig's trotter for hours and then a bright soffrito stirred in at the end, Mexican style brown rice, and gazpacho (in the cup). The other is Chicken Tikka Masala with basmati rice and spiced lentils with chard. So good and one of those recipes that is surely more than the sum of its parts. They haven't sent me one in some time, I suppose they try to rotate people out. I really enjoyed doing it, so I might sign up again next time they put out the call for volunteers.
