I only include the titles I feel like including. In fact, the titles are pretty much the ones I'm personally interested in, with few exceptions. I don't get paid for this, and I don't have time to devote to doing every DVD. I have a lovely wife and a four-year-old son I'd rather spend time with. Please don't complain. If there is a title not included in the Roundup that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone...like I do!

Not sure if you knew this but I flew thru the lovely(sarcasm) Memphis airport and noticed their dvd vendor out there selling dvds for what I thought was cheap. 2 for $15 with some decent titles there. I had to run to another plane but I wasn't sure if you were aware of that.

In case anyone is looking for a price on "Secret Admirer" (C. Thomas Howell, Lori Loughlin, Kelly Preston), Best Buy has it listed for $12.99 and Circuit City has it for $10.99.

Dave, do you have any idea if "Educating Rita" is supposed to street this week? The Digital Bits has shown this title in their "DVD Cover Art" section as being released this Tuesday, but I haven't been able to find it on anyone's website. This is one of Michael Caine's best roles!

Chris, that's in-store only.

Bob: First off, Digital Bits lists things for 1/7 that are definately due on other dates (like the 1/14 release of all of those Disney titles, such as The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again). Also note that The Bits' cover art for Educating Rita does NOT link to anything (usually they link to DVDPlanet listings for referal sales).

So next, I used my TVShowsOnDVD credentials to check out Columbia's press release database for this title. Here's the weird part: Checking the list for all 1/7 releases does not show it. Looking up spec sheets for all titles does not show it. BUT, look up the listing of "New Releases" DOES show it. And the date attached to the detail in that listing is...1/7/03! And it shows the same cover art that The Bits has.

Finally, I checked all over the various places that ought to list this title for sale. No dice. The closest I came was CircuitCity.com's listing that says "Movie currently not available".

My guess is that this was starting to be solicated, was cancelled or postponed indefinately for some reason, and Columbia forgot to remove that one last vestige of it from their press database. The Bits glommed onto that, and listed it for you to find.

Your next step is probably to send a note to Bill Hunt at The Bits, 'cuz he's got better contacts at Columbia than I do (and they would find it odd for me to ask about a non-TV title!). He might could find out what's up for you.

Don't expect Bill Hunt to respond if you e-mail him about errors in the Bits upcoming cover art section. I've done that several times -- the errors never get fixed and Bill never replies.
Not that I'm dogging Bill or anything. I really appreciate thedigitalbits.com and the work he does there. I know he's a busy man.

How bloody typical is that! I just found Apollo 13 for 19.99 somewhere and picked it up Friday as I'd been wanting it for ages but it was always priced too high.
