TPUTS has now been released in UK by Universal. (Region 2)
The picture is 1.85:1 Anamorphic. DD 2.0.
The picture quality is not that good. Dark scenes are not good but the bright scenes are better. (According this swedish http://www.dvdforum.nu/recensioner/visarecension.asp?id=893

Hopefully if/when this is released here it has better Audo/Video and a Craven commentary.

His commentaries are always pretty informative.

The People Under the Stairs is one of two VHS tapes I still own (the other is Hardware). I would buy People Under the Stairs in a second.

Wes Craven has a dedicated following, and obviously this title has a bit of a following.

Time to move this thread up to the top... I really wish Universal would get off their rockers and release this movie!! I think (and it appears others agree with me) that this is one of Cravens best films ever, and I really wish I could replace my pan&scan Laserdisc with a nice 16x9 DVD. Supplements would be nice, but just a good presentation is all I really want!

This is one of Craven's best films.Right up there with the original A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Hopefully this will come within the next year.
