Following the hard-edged debut with The Last House on the Left (1972) and equally rough and tough The Hills Have Eyes (1977), Wes Craven secured Master of Horror status with A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). At the end of the 1980’s, Craven was working with Universal Pictures – and Shep Gordon’s Alive Films – on three movies; The People Under the Stairs came at the end of that deal. Shout Factory – through their Scream Factory label – has revisited their previous Collector’s Edition Blu-ray release with a brand new UHD Blu-ray release.
