Kage no Gundan or in the US it was called Shadow Warriors. I used to watch it all the time in the 80's. It starred Sonny Chiba as Hanzo.

Also a show called Combat! that starred Vic Morrow.

[Edit] Just did a search and Combat! is being released on DVD next month. Cool!

'A Year In The Life' starring SJ Parker and Richard Kiley.

Excellent mid-80s tv drama ... started as a mini-series and then turned into a series.

Tartikoff calls it the toughest show he had to cancel ...

How about the MTV Show "Fear" it was a reality show where they scared the crap out of people.

On another (no so) scary note, I grew up with Nickelodeon's "Are you afraid of the dark?" series (anyone remember?) I'd pick up these two in a heart beat

I'd love to have the oft-forgotten "Doctor, Doctor" (CBS, 1989-1991) starring Matt Frewer. But I'm not holding my breath. I'd also kill to have "It's Garry Shandling's Show" (SHOWTIME, 1986-1990), but as HBO can't even get around to releasing more of "Larry Sanders", I can't imagine Showtime is knocking themselves out for this. Too bad. And how about "Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist" (COMEDY CENTRAL, 1995-2000) already?

Doctor, Doctor was funny!

I'm still annoyed that there's no 'Hill St. Blues' and 'St. Elsewhere' .

Oh, yeah - and looking at my video tape collection, another treasure I'd love on DVD but will probably never, ever make it are the two half-hour bits Chris Elliott made for Cinemax back in 1986/1987: "The Action Family", being a simultaneous spoof of '70s Private Dick shows and '70s Family Sitcoms (co-starring a very young Seth Green with cameos by Bob Elliott & Dave Letterman) and "F.D.R.: A One-Man Show", with Chris restaging a bizarre and hilariously inaccurate portrait of the former President in a High School auditorium.

Also, I'm desperate for Jake Johannsen's "This'll Take About an Hour" stand-up special that aired on HBO in 1991.

But alas....

Hi - I'm new to HTF and I love TV and TV shows on DVD. The shows I would love to have that won't ever come out on DVD are:

Starman
Powers of Matthew Star
The Flash
Now and Again

I really want Lois and Clark, but I believe it will come out within the next year or so.

I noticed a couple of other people mentioned Sliders, which I also love...Seasons 1 and 2 are supposed to be released in a combined set in August - I can't wait!

The early 60s western Black Saddle, only to hear the theme music as it sounded before the Casper Troopers Drum and Bugle Corps got hold of it. It's got to be one of the very best Western theme songs ever. Since it hasn't been mentioned I must assume that it was never watched by anyone.
And another from my long ago childhood that I watched religiously - a Saturday morning SF adventure called Johnny Jupiter, with a cheesy robot. This is early 50s stuff here. And wasn't there a Rocky Jones, Space Ranger, series in the late 50s? Fat chance for these!

What a great thread…

These are some shows that I would cherish to own on DVD…but will never see the light of day:

The Howard Stern Show (1990-1992 Ch. 9 Show)
Starman (massively underappreciated series adapted from the film)
Tales of the Gold Monkey (great Indiana Jones like series that aired for one season on ABC in 82/83)
The Magic Garden (local NY area children’s show from the 70s/80s)
Working Stiffs (Short lived 1979 sitcom with Michael Keaton and Jim Belushi)
The Fugitive (2000/2001 remake staring Tim Daley)
