Theater Research TR-5140 please HELP!!! (1 Viewer)

After my dad brought home the TR-5140 Theater Research 6 pieces set, I immediately research and found out that it was affiliated with "the White Van" scams. Now I don't know if these are legitimate product but the package is very professionally pack. The box is very legit but I'm alittle concern.

Anyone got this sets? is it good?

well, imo 300cad, he didn't get *too* ripped off.
No way they are worth 2000.

plenty of these on ebay to get an idea of what they can/do sell for...

So anything that is from Theater Research is a scam? or should I say they are bad speakers? I don't mind spending $1500 CDN to achieve a good system. Can you recommend? types of speakers/revceiever? I already bought my Sony 57" HDTV/

the way to buy speakers, hanzo, is to listen to as many speakers as you can. everyone's ears and definition of "good sound" is different. when you decide on a few brands you like, you can see if the dealer will let you take a pair home to try-out.
