Has anyone demoed these two amplifier manufacturers head to head? I currently own a Simaudio I-5 (for the mains) and am looking to buy all new amps for center and the mains. I've heard great reviews about the odyssey's mono blocks and considering they are significantly less in price, I want to know if I'm going to be losing out on quality, because personally the SimAudio line is some of the finest I've ever listened to. The cost of the Simaudio W-3 2 x 120 costs more than 3 monoblock Odyssey amps a 180w each.

Thanks guys.

Well, if you are talking new equipment I would take the odyssey mono's over the w3, but if your not opposed to buying used then its a different ball game. Used you can pick up a w5 for about the same or even less than a new pair of odyssey mono's and that would be a much closer comparison. For myself, I would take the w5. Much better at driving my logans. Check out audiogon.com for used equipment on both sim and odyssey.

Yeh I have no problem at all with buying used as my I-5 was. Been keeping my eye on audiogon for the W-3's for the past week :)
