I believe I've always heard that The Girl in Pink Tights was a remake of Grable's Coney Island, but that doesn't mean that information is 100% correct. It could've very well been a remake of Sweet Rosie O'Grady.
I also get confused on whether the film version, which was apparently tabled around December 1953, was to be called The Girl in Pink Tights or simply Pink Tights. The A&E biography profiling Marilyn Monroe calls the movie by the former, but newspapers clippings I've seen from 1953-54 call it by the latter.
Either way, Fox apparently scrapped the movie and sent it over to be a Broadway show instead.
