Possible -Run Satellite Signal Through DVD Player? (1 Viewer)

Is it possible to run my Satellite Signal (S-Video) through my HDMI DVD player to the Television?

No, and I second the "why?"

To try to do what the new A/V Receivers do (in theory) which is to translate the analog signal to digital and then send it to the TV through the HDMI cable connecting the DVD Player to the TV (existing).
The quality I am getting now from "upgrading" my signal is significant. I watch DVD's and DIVX movies and they are clear as a bell. I would like to try to improve my satellite signal as well if possible without going through the expense or hassle of getting HDTV through DISH or purchasing a $700 receiver that will translate and upgrade the signal.
Does that make any sense at all?
