It has been a while, so now's as good a time as any. Name five movies that you're reluctant to admit to liking--you know, critically questionable stuff that simply entertains you. Guilty pleasures.
Here are five of mine:
* Falling Down
* The Car
* Summer Lovers
* Amazon Women of the Moon
* Them!

[*]More Julia Roberts movies than I car to admit. She hamstrings me.
blush.gif

[*]Any movie with animals. Stuff like The Incredible Journey or Shiloh, Milo & Otis or the recent My Dog Skip. 'Skip' was quite simply the most traumatic movie I've seen in years. Alright, some of these movies are quite good, but some of them are extremely bad, but I get engrossed in them anyway.
[*]All of the Jaws sequels.

There's at least five there.

Okay, I shall humiliate myself with the following:
Barb Wire - hilarious rip-off of one of the greatest movies of all time.
My Best Friend's Wedding - I'm a sentimental kinda guy, obviously.
blush.gif

Lifeforce - what can I say: Mathilda May.
biggrin.gif

Mortal Kombat - which I've watched enough times to know the order of names in the theme song.
And the ultimate embarrassment:
Dirty Dancing - I simply love the music (though I admit I'll fast-forward most of the dialogue).
Edit: Honourable mention goes to Showgirls (but I don't own the non-anamorphic DVD).

The Siege of Firebase Gloria - not as guilty a pleasure as some of the other choices on this list. It actually has some real merit, IMHO.
Lifeforce - gee, I wonder why? :)
This Island Earth - although it is somewhat difficult to watch now, after being MST3K'd.
Hard Target - yeah, I know... Van Damme.

( I'd love to see the rumored (??) director's cut. )
Cool World - mostly for Gabriel Byrne's performance. ( You don't know how difficult it was to type this entry. :) )
- Walter.

Skip, this is always a fun topic. But I don't feel THEM belongs in the "guilty pleasures" category as it is quite universally held to be a fine, well-made science-fiction film. One of my sci-fi GP's is IT! THE TERROR FROM BEYOND SPACE, which has been trashed by critics consistently. I feel it deserves better. I've always found it to be pretty creepy and atmospheric despite the cheesy sets. Marshall Thompson is not an Oscar-caliber actor, but he performs well here. The monster, though the suit is obvious, is an otherwise well-designed and ferocious. Of course, having been quite young when I first caught this on t.v., and having anxiously awaited all future re-runs, it does hold a s[ecial place in my heart.

No No No, all the answers so far, mere childs play to what my guilty pleasure is...
Battlefield Earth!
4 more are not needed, this ONE title should make for a whole lifetime of guilty pleasure films! It's just so stupifyingly aweful, that it transcends being bad, and falls into a catagory that has no name.
Please don't hit me! :)

The Last Boy Scout -- And then some.
The Long Kiss Goodnight -- Everyone knows, when you make an assumption, you make an ass out of u and mption.
From Dusk Till Dawn -- Okay, I want him out of here, in his car, and down the road or you can change the name of this place to Benny's World of Blood.
Demolition Man -- Mellow greetings, sir. What's your boggle?
Last Action Hero -- Well I'm sorry to disappoint you but you're gonna live to enjoy all the glorious fruits life has got to offer - acne, shaving, premature ejaculation ... and your first divorce.
Damn, that 3 out of 5 flicks written by Shane Black.

I agree with Bring It On. When I was done watching it, I knew it wasn't a "good" movie, but I found myself thoroughly entertained!

Now that's impressive. Much as I don't like the term guilty pleasure, MK is one of my most rewatched DVDs but I could not give the order of those names.
I'm just ready to watch the dang thing all over again when the credits roll...
"BOW TO ME! You weak, pathetic fools - I've come for your souls"
"I don't think so!"
Other guitly pleasures in my collection? None - they're all quality items!

Not necessarily ashamed to admit, but I have a feeling a lot of people will want to point and laugh at me for naming these out loud:
The adventures of Ford Fairlane
The last boy scout
Hollow point
A low down dirty Shame
Smokey and the bandit
What can I say? I like to have fun
