Hey you guys with S38's -

How is the imaging in 2 channel? Are the vocals nice and tight?

Yes.

I was listening to Holly Cole's Temptation last night and was, again, impressed with the imaging of these speakers. Holly's voice is a great one to demo speakers with. On the S38s, they seem to have just the right amount of sibilance and resonance that the human voice should, without being shrill or sounding processed. My two cents.

My neighbor picked up the Athena bookshelf speakers that BB is now carrying, and we did a little A/B comparison a few days ago, and she's returning them for a pair of S38s.

I was dead set on purchasing a set of Klipsch RF 35's for $750. I went to BB with a friend to get something, and for kicks and giggles I listened to the S38II's and boy was I blown away! I ended up picking them up for $200 on clearance to boot!!! I am a JBL convert...now to get the rest of the series to replace the rest of my system.

With what I saved, I may be able to afford a SVS!!!
