Grills on or off ?- JBL Studio series (1 Viewer)

I just got a pair of S26's as mains plus my s-center (original series). I'm thinking they look better with the grills off. Would that be "tacky" to leave them off ?

what would make it tacky?
mine are both off and on depending on my mood. sometimes i think one way looks 'better' than the other way. my friends say i have way too much time on my hands...

I keep the grills off my S26s. I like the copper colored cones. My fiancee doesn't understand, but she also doesn't give me any grief over it.

I like them better with them off also....but I have kids around and that could be a disaster waiting to happen !

It comes down to personal preference. If you don't hear any sonic differences, go for asthetics. I leave my grilles on, but take them when showing people my system for the first time.

Some grill designs takes that into consideration, but the JBL S-Series grills are raised off the speaker baffle by 1/4" or so. Their primary purpose is for speaker protection.
