denon 3803 on screen setup (1 Viewer)

can i make it show up on the screen while im watching a dvd? I do not have antenna or satalite at this time. If turn the tv to normal ant a it shows up but it would be nice to adjust while watching a dvd.

Not if watching the DVD over component via the receiver I don't think. With the receiver on any other source (over the component out) is fine but not with DVD.

It will display it over component if the signal is interlaced, but not if it is progressive.

What are you wanting to adjust while watching a DVD? If it's the channel levels, they can be adjusted on the fly and the levels show on the front panel (in addition to the OSD, if not component.) Go to page 55 and checkout the lower half of the page.

Note that the adjustment that Chuck mentioned is not the master levels. Those adjustments override the master for that surround mode.
