From the DCDi website:

Featured in Genesis's FLI2200 digital video deinterlacer, DCDi® eliminates the jagged edges that appear when standard interlaced video is viewed on progressive-scan displays. This means progressive-scan DVD players, projectors, digital TV's, and flat panel displays that feature DCDi® technology produce images that look smooth and natural.
So my question is if I have a TV that is not high-definition, does having DCDi benefit me in any way right now?

If your TV can't handle progressive scan input (old analog non-HD sets can only input interlaced) DCDi does nothing because its only for de-interlacing for progressive output.
