Watched the episode Cheap Skates today on my Season Two Blu-ray set. Beautiful transfer on a fun episode. I’m really enjoying this release.

Hi all,

Received my Abbott and Costello Show, season 2 Blu Ray set yesterday and watched “The Paper Hangers.”
Pristine picture quality was noted in this episode and others I just briefly scanned.
The commentaries were also informative.
I did notice however that the opening and closing credits were still photos and not from film.
Also, the laugh track at times, was louder than the actors speaking parts, forcing me to turn down the volume so much so that I couldn’t hear the actors.
These two issues however, didn’t detract from the enjoyment of watching this show.
All in all, I’m glad I made this purchase and look forward to viewing this Blu Ray set in its entirety.

The opening and closing credits are 100% pure analogue motion picture film as scanned in 4K from the original 35mm camera negatives.

The audio mix with the sweetened laugh track is what was done when the show was new in 1953.

I hope you realize that my observations are just that, not criticisms.
With that being said, those title cards look fantastic coming from analog film…almost too good to be true.
As for the sweetened laugh track, I realize thats the way it was done in 1953 it just seemed more noticeable now, than it was in past viewings, but it doesn’t take away from the viewing pleasure.
Again…I highly recommend both season 1 and 2 DVD sets.
Classicflix has done an awesome job.
