I know, personally, that James Cameron's movie Titanic was ridiculous. Focusing the entire plot of the movie around the romantic liason between Jack and Rose when the core of the movie should have been focused on the catastrophe of the Titanic.
Sez who? You? Cameron was under no obligation to focus on anything other than the story he wanted to tell.

That doesn't factor into my decision, then again, it never does. I'm a dedicated James Bond fan. There have been some great films in the franchise, and other that haven't been so great. But, I do go and see each Bond movie when it comes and I go through repeated viewings of each movie. I also don't feel that that there ever has been a reboot in the series, only a new actor that has carried a torch. I admit that Casino Royale is a different story, but if you watch Casino Royale, move to Dr. No and watch the series straight through, then it doesn't feel like a reboot. I've always supported the James Bond franchise. Long as they don't drastically change the character by pandering to specific groups, like Doctor Who did, which has seen negative reviews and fans dropping the series.

James Bond has also brought back characters from previous Bond movies, notably, besides the title character, Felix has also been a recurring character through the history of this franchise. Can't wait to see how Daniel Craig does with this being his final film.

I’m excited for this last Daniel film.

Can’t wait for the 007 films on UHd too!!!

Hmmm... Do we really think this is going to come out in February 2020, one year from now? Maybe they will hold it until spring? Even so, it would be the first Bond film in 30 years to have a spring/summer release.

I'd like to see them film somewhere they haven't been before. It's not like there's any shortage of interesting locations around the world. And no cheating - I hate it when films, especially Bonds, claim to be in some exotic locale when they're actually on the Pinewood backlot.

They already pushed it back once when Danny Boyle left and chose the new February date at that time. I kind of doubt they would want to push it back again as that would look problematic. I wouldn't mind if they did push it back if they need more time, but they must have looked at their schedule and come to the conclusion that they can meet the February date, or they would have pushed it further back in the first place.

Coincidentally, Craig will still have a film in November; it's just going to be Knives Out with Rian Johnson instead of Bond with Danny Boyle. But that also gives Bond the opportunity to trailer itself in front of another Daniel Craig film.

I’m sure they will hit the February date for the film.
No confirmation on the new start date. Even if filming starts in April they should make the release date.

Didn’t they finish filming Spectre in July of ‘15, a mere 4 months from when it was released? It seems to be the trend for the last several films to have a very short post-production window.

I love Bond history but I’m not sure on this one.

To be honest I wouldn’t even know the shooting dates for any of the films.
Aside from the late year ones usually started in January and wrapped by summer then postbwas longer.

I’ll have to look!

Bond films are usually quick on post-production because they don't rely on extensive CGI. For a blockbuster like this, with a release date locked in, it's standard practice for editors to begin assembling footage as soon as shooting begins, so the finished film can come together pretty quickly after principal photography has ended.

That's not an unreasonable schedule. It's not the sort of thing where they need to find the story in editing. The real question is: will the script be in decent shape by the time they start shooting? The fact that it's Purvis & Wade again doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Typically the last bond film by the others hasn’t been an all time high??

I like diamonds and a view to a kill myself.

Die another day is a tough watch for me.
License to kill is rarely watched as well.
