The International market continues to make very good religious movies and BARABBAS starring Billy Zane falls into the category. Unfortunately some very good titles like "The Inquiry" and Ben-Hur are only released on DVD. Fortunately BARABBAS has been released on Blu-ray.

This movie is based on the novel written by Nobel Prize winner Par Lagerkvist. Besides Billy Zane as Barabbas the movie stars Hristo Shopov, Paolo Seganti, Cristina Capotondi and Filippo Nigro. The video is excellent beautiful colors with plenty of depth.

Yes indeed"Give us Barabbas".
If this presumably made for TV effort had been better and given a cinema release, it may have prompted Sony/Columbia to give us the "real" one!.
I still can remember the vivid colours on the 70mm print -a far cry from the DVD release.
