The Clock 1945 "It's wartime, and young people are rushing into hasty -sometimes unwise - marriages. But not pretty, level-headed Alice. Then she meets Joe, a G.I. on a two-day pass, and falls heart-over-level-head in love. Judy Garland and Robert Walker are sweethearts for the ages in this glowing valentine of a movie directed by Vincente Minnelli (who, to add another layer of radiant romance, was about to marry his leading lady). And New York itself plays a role, transforming the whirlwind courtship into a love triangle. The city helps and hinders, holding the young lovers in a warm embrace one moment, then tossing up funny, frustrating roadblocks the next. The National Board of Review named The Clock one of the Top 10 movies of 1945. Film fans rate it even higher. They know The Clock is timeless, one of the great cinema loves of a lifetime." Judy Garland, Robert Walker, James Gleason, Keenan Wynn, Marshall Thompson

Corvette Summer 1978 "A cherry Corvette Stingray. A gorgeous girl. And a summer in glittery Las Vegas. What more does a guy need for the wildest, weirdest, funniest, freakiest time of his life? Mark Hamill (Star Wars) and Annie Potts (Designing Women) make comedic and romantic sparks fly in a revved-up tale of car-brained Kenny (Hamill), trailing a Corvette that's mysteriously boosted after his high school shop class restores it to perfection. The trail leads to Fun Capital, USA, and a ditzy diversion (Potts) whose dream is to become - a hooker! This damsel in distress needs a white knight on a candy-apple, metal-flake, superior-mags, mercury-tubes steed - right, Kenny? Both are in for a summer they'll never forget." Mark Hamill, Annie Potts, Eugene Roche, Kim Milford, Richard Mckenzie, William Bryant, Philip Bruns

The Dish 2001 "It's the biggest event since sheep invented wool! Apollo 11's astronauts will walk on the moon - and the 1,000-ton satellite dish in tiny, sheep-farming Parkes, Australia, will beam that historic first step around the globe. But as giddy citizens prepare for the moment when the entire world will depend on them, the dish flatlines. And its unconventional Aussie crew and its by-the-book NASA supervisor from the U.S. have very different ideas about how to fix it. A culture clash of cosmic proportions erupts in this fact-based tale of how the biggest televised event in history was almost not televised. The Dish, with Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Patrick Warburton (Seinfeld) and others in a skilled ensemble portraying a spirited array of techies and townies, "will send you to the moon and back laughing" (Bruce Kirkland, Toronto Sun)." Sam Neill, Kevin Harrington, Tom Long, Patrick Warburton, Genevieve Mooy, Tayler Kane, Bille Brown, Roy Billing, Andrew S. Gilbert, Lenka Kripac, Matthew Moore, Eliza Szonert, John Mcmartin

Ten Little Indians 1966 "Ten people - eight strangers and two married domestics - attend a posh weekend at a remote castle. What's the occasion? Each has unwittingly been invited to his/her own murder. Who's behind this dastardly plot? You'll have a devilishly tense time figuring it out while watching this clever Agatha Christie adaptation. Ten Little Indians refers to the ten invitees, the familiar nursery rhyme and the figurines affixed to a serving plate at the castle. After the fatal poisoning of a guest, one figurine goes eerily missing. One down. Nine to go. Who's next? That's a fate Hugh O'Brian (TV's Wyatt Earp), British screen veterans Leo Genn, Wilfrid Hyde-White and Stanley Holloway, and Goldfinger girl Shirley Eaton desperately hope to avoid." Hugh O'Brian, Shirley Eaton, Fabian, Leo Genn, Stanley Holloway, Marianne Hoppe, Wilfrid Hyde-White, Daliah Lavi, Dennis Price, Mario Adorf

The Circle (1925) It's déjà vu all over again in this scandalous comedy about marital infidelity directed by two-time Academy Award® winner* Frank Borzage and based on the hit stage play by W. Somerset Maugham. Bored with her marriage to stuffy aristocrat Arnold Cheney (Creighton Hale), Elizabeth (Eleanor Boardman) is planning to trade him in for a new model (Malcolm McGregor), just as Arnold's mother (Eugenie Besserer) did to his father (Alec Francis) 30 years before. To help her decide if she's made the right choice, Elizabeth invites her mother-in-law and her husband (George Fawcett) to pay them a visit, while Arnold takes measures to save his marriage with a hard-hitting plan of his own. The first film to feature Lucille LeSueur acting under the name Joan Crawford (playing the young Lady Catherine), The Circle would be remade as Strictly Unconventional, a 1930 M-G-M talkie starring Lewis Stone and Catherine Dale Owen. *Directing: 7th Heaven (1927/28), Bad Girl (1931/32) Eleanor Boardman, Malcolm Mcgregor, Alec Francis

Lot's of good material there.
I'm interested in the two Maureen O'Hara films. I held off buying the Region 2 DVDs because Internet buzz said the picture quality was poor. I'll wait for reports on these two new discs before buying, but if the reports are favorable, I'll have them both.
I've never seen Ten Little Indians but it's Agatha Christie plus some very stylish actors - Dennis Price, Wilfred Hyde White and Stanley Holloway - so it's bound to be pretty good.

Anything new in the MGM list? They all seem like previous releases.

Several Fox MOD scope titles I'm interested in but, of course, considering their recent history, I'll wait to see if they're in their correct aspect ratios. At this stage, I'm not even hoping for anamorphic, just a proper 2.35 aspect ratio.

The MGM program seems to have been suspended/cancelled as Fox, which was responsible for it, concentrates on its own line. Information, as usual, has to be divined about these things.
