I'm planning to audition some B&W speakers this weekend. I'm looking at the DM602 S3 and an LCR60 S3. Can anyone who owns these tell me what I should expect to pay?

Thanks in advance.

Expect to pay $600 a pair for the 602S3. As for the LCR 60 S3, I think they run $375 - 400 each.

I have two pairs of the 602S3 speakers for the fronts and surrounds. However I have a pair of LCR 600S3 speakers, one for the front and one rear. I auditioned both the LCR 60 and the LCR 600, and the latter had much fuller sound and I felt it was a better match for the 602s. I would strongly suggest looking at the LCR 600. Expect to pay $500 each, but well worth it.

Are you going to use a subwoofer?

Yes, I am currently running a Klipsch SW-12 but I ordered an SVS 20-39 PC+ on Tuesday. I'm in the process of upgrading my current B&W DM600s and center channel (all about 9 years old now) to something larger for fuller (mid-bass) sound. I have a rather large room.

Another 602 will be a much better center than the LCR6. However, the 602s are not mag shielded so you can't use this configuration with a direct view TV.

Thanks Rich, I should have mentioned that this was for a set of CDM's (9,7, center)and pretty good relationship however the first gear I bought there he offered a discount and didn't even have to ask, this may not be the case or not as much for the 602's. Oh another idea make sure you ask the B&M if they have any tradeins. My B&M has a year upgrade policy- but even then used B&W's hold there value but could save you some extra or get you into the next model for the same cash

cheers

I paid $300 for the LCR 60 s3, and
$550 for the 602 s3, loving them everyday, just wish I had the money for a sub and surrounds right now....

When I bought the 605's, I got them $600 off of list (1600 vs 2200), because they were being phased out. I do like them a lot. But I am not sure I would go back to that store to buy new stuff.

I am really interested in trying out 803's (and a bunch of other things). Would be nice to trade that whole set in and basically get the 803's for not too much money. But that is not likely to happen.
