I'm thinking about purchasing a set of Athena Micro 6 surround speakers which is a 5.1 set-up. I already ran speaker wire for 6.1. I found where I can buy a single speaker online to fill the 6.1 channel. My question is will this work? On their website it's stated that the sub cross-over is factory set with no adjustment to perfectly match the surrounds. Has anyone else tried this? Thanx.

Yeah, it should work fine. Your receiver will handle the crossover settings for you. The Athenas are not like the Bose where you must wire all the satellites thru the bass module. Set all your speakers to small, set the crossover at 100 or 120Hz and let the subwoofer handle the low frequencies.

What kind of receiver as you using?

Thanx for your help Greg, right now I'm starting from scratch. Have looked at the Pioneer VSX-D814K and the Onkyo
SR502. I'm still up in the air but leaning toward the Pioneer. Steve
