Hi All,
Cross posted with intention to delete original post. With a new house comes new opportunities! Current system
1. Reconfigure 5.1 system. Replace surround Energy speakers with Mirage Nanosat (110Hz up) to achieve a more general surround than from the front firing Energy speakers. In terms of sub, would I match the sub cross over to front or surrounds?
2. Set up 7.1 by using some combination of the Energy/Nanosats as surround/back surround. Using 4 Nanosats might be an option as well.
3. Set up 7.2 by adding an LF100 sub (slightly narrower range than CHT at 40-120Hz). The frequency response of both subs seems very close. (I am assuming I would constrain frequency range of both subs to 40-110to220Hz?)
4. Future…set up an Atmos arrangement by adding 2 ceiling speakers plus of course a new amp. Assuming the Nanosats would suck at this.
Constraints:

- Pana XR-SA55 amp capable of 7.1 (5.1 + 2 back surrounds)
- Front: Mirage Om 50
- Surround: Energy Eclipse 14”
- Sub: Velodyne CHT 8 (30-140Hz)
- Front and surrounds have a good frequency match around 45Hz to 20kHz

Constraints:
- Apparently Dolby says all speakers should go down at least to 80Hz. If that is critical, I’ve not seen many surround speakers that go that low.
- Ideal distance between surround speakers is 10’ (on pillars) but could be increased up to 16’
- Back speakers can either be about 2.5’ behind surrounds or about 10’ (due to ceiling configuration)
- Ceiling height is about 7-8’
- We just had to have a bunch of repairs done for a water leak…no more construction beyond cable runs.
