Any word on revisiting the Planet of the Apes set? (1 Viewer)

I know there is a new Planet of the Apes SE which boasts a new anamorphic transfer. I hate to buy it and then have an anamorphic set announced.

Well, here is what I would estimate based
upon what we have heard from Fox....

The studio will release the rest of the
four films individually over a period of
time.

After that, I would suspect that they will
release a boxed set.

I wouldn't let this deter you from purchasing
the Planet of the Apes SE right now.

I thought you said "I hate to buy it and then have an anamorphic set announced." and obviously Fox would re-release the titles as a boxed set later on, though maybe in 2+ years or so.

My concern was that the rest of the films would be released only as a set so in purchasing the set I would have to buy the first film twice. If Ron thinks they will be released seperately they likely will be... and I can live with buying seperate films. I know some are wild about the actual boxes "sets" come in but they really don't interest me.

Mind you, I don't have any sort of inside
information on how Fox plans to release these
films other than the recent HTF chat with
Peter Staddon where he said the other Ape
films would be released over a period of
time in anamorphic. It is only a guess that
the studio will make these available as
separate releases.

The real deal here is that you should just
avoid a prolonged wait and purchase the
original film now.
