Interestingly enough, it's on a porno DVD that, ummm... a friend saw the sharpest DTS cue on DVD.
You are all familiar with the old DTS cue-up, with the raunchy rock music and the big disc on screen. Well, on most of my DVDs, the picture looks slightly blemished. On this particular DVD, I'm not sure what they did, but it has an ultra-clear picture. I'm talking reference quality!
I'm not quite sure what to make of this.

I have "Blond & Brunettes" and there's not a penetration shot in the whole thing--except for a short "featurette" that's separate from the main feature. Very disappointing. I would say he's at about "Penthouse" video level, but most of his current stuff is not nearly XXX-rated. I, too, don't want people to be misled.

It ain't anamorphic, but the fullscreen "Flashpoint" DVD has amazing image quality and some blistering scenes. I highly recommend it.

There are a number of widescreen (though not anamorphic) items of... ah... adult cinema.
One that comes to mind (no snickering!) is Tatiana 3 by Private. I also remember that Bodyslammin' 2 had a 5.1 soundtrack (DD I believe).
There are a number of movies filmed on real film as opposed to video. Blake did a lot, and Vivid has also done a number of on-film productions.

Speaking of audio quality:
All Star (I think it's called) has the best running audio commentary I've ever heard on ANY release, porn or regular DVD. To hear these girls just talk about the making of the film, the other actors and actresses, it's flat out HILARIOUS! It's one of about 5 commentaries I've ever listened to throughout.

Maybe we should compile a master list of the highest quality XXX porn titles. Ones that can be viewed on a larger screen. I'm not interested in if it's 5.1 or not. I had "Sensual Experience" with Asia Carrera and the 5.1 on that sort of sucked. Me and my girlfriend usually blast loud techno metal anyways!

Not in this case. I'm aware of that duality, but in Andrew Blake's case, his recent stuff is mostly softcore-only. At least, that's what I've learned at adultdvdtalk.com--a fun place to gather this kind of information. I would love it if you could prove me wrong with a link to a place where I can buy XXX versions of recent Andrew Blake films, but as far as I know, he's really gunning for that Penthouse-Channel-type no-penetration audience.
