Looking forward to seeing this in theaters hopefully this weekend; loved the second one (it was actually our first UHD Blu-ray purchase!).

This will most likely be a buy...

Not that I have seen as of yet. Are the first and second films already in 4k? I have never followed this series. If they are in 4k it's quite possible.
As Stephen indicated, the first two were released in 4K; the sequel was the very first UHD Blu-ray we purchased. That's why I don't get this 1080p three-picture set -- but regardless, we gotta keep supporting physical media, no matter what the format.

I assume there will be a Best Buy SteelBook for this to go along with the ones for the previous two.
Most likely; I didn't pick up the steelbook of part two, instead opting for the slipcase variant, which was fine. The transfer for the third one will most likely be on par with the jaw-dropping visuals Sony gave the other two (specifically the first sequel, which while not quite 100-percent reference looks pretty damn close).

Both of the first 2 films were released on 4K in 2018.

Stephen, thanks!

The trend is that studios usually offer these titles individually at first, and then within a year, they come out with (in this case) a 3-movie 4k set.

I would bet that is what will happen here.

Do you really expect it not to?

Very possible it doesn't; I've experienced plenty of titles that didn't come down for the holiday, for whatever reason.
Proximity to release date is a factor here. I'd be surprised to see a movie come down for a Black Friday sale less than a month after initial release, especially one that did as well at the box office as this one.

Picked up the movie on 4K Blu-ray but have not yet watched it. Am looking forward to seeing this movie for the first time as I did not catch it in the theater.
