I redid Snowmaggedon with some new titles for submission to the Film One 60 second film festival:

It's local and I support these guys, first time I'll have a submission tho!

I made a bit longer Cooking timelapse, but it's currently stuck in the queue, will be here when fully baked (pun intended ):

Haha... Pretty cool, Sam.

Maybe I should try City-Hall-maggedon from my office window w/ a pretty good view of City Hall in downtown Manhattan over here. I wonder how Times Square would look for this from the Reuters building for another since I should have access to that building as well (though it may be harder to explain why I'm setting up a camera w/ tripod for several hours there, LOL).

Yeah, you might wanna ask permission on that one before you get started. The suspicion on photographers has never been higher. Times Square would make an awesome subject matter tho.

If you want to dabble with timelapse but don't have the gear, a poor / lazy-man's method is to record a video and then crank up the replay speed. This can be done with an inexpensive Flip camera and less than 30 min in iMovie for editing and tweaking. While it will not give the quality or extended durations you can get with a good DSLR and snapping shots all night, it's cheap and easy.

I did this for the first time when unpacking some new SVS speakers:

(and when I get home, I look forward to watching Sam's videos :)

I took about 6 different time lapses in Times Square last night, was a lot of fun. Here's the first one:

Once I have them all edited I'm going to try to slow them down a little bit and add some creative commons sourced music to it.

Here's my newest one, the Vimeo link is taking it's own sweet time so you have to download the whole thing here:

When vimeo gets its act together it will be here:

Fun stuff, Sam.

I still haven't gotten around to trying some time lapse photography for myself yet. Maybe I'll get to it as summer approaches...

Had to repost it to vimeo, at least I have the video up there now but no thumbnails, so it looks ridiculous.

Vimeo is totally BROKEN right now.

You still using Lightroom Sam? iMovie has pretty decent features for free. On the Fair one, for example, how do you handle light level changes? Auto ISO? It looks to me like the shutter speed and aperture aren't changing. Have you tried the time lapse feature of the D500? Have you done any with longer shutter speeds to smooth the motion?

It's 4 buttons on the iPhone.
Camera App.
Time Lapse
Focus
Record.

Straight out of camera no editing of any kind. You can't really do much with it if you want to.
