Ivan Reitman's 1990 Kindergarten Cop is a fun police procedural / fish out of water romp that not only works, but allows us to join in the fun.
Part of that fun is that Mr. Schwarzenegger is right off some of the hottest fan favorites of the era. Looking at his CV, there seems to be a lapse around 2003-4, until around 2012-13, a period during which it was rumored that he had gone off to Tahiti to get away from the fray of celebrity.
Kino's new 4k UHD release of the film via Universal is a gorgeous affair, that appears very much akin to a premiere print via the camera of Michael Chapman. The main titles literally pop off the screen. Colors, densities, grain structure all appear perfect. A reference quality release for a film-based project of the era.
Audio, in DTS-HD MA 5.1 is rich, full and proscenium filling.
