Why, oh why don't my local BB's have this?

For two weeks running the local Best Buy has not received the new HD DVD and Blu-Ray releases. It appears that they want customers to order from the web site???? It shows "usually ships" next day. Local store has also disconnected the HD DVD demo set-up and only have demo for Blu-Ray. Both Toshiba and Samsung players are on the sales floor in boxes so player supply seems no longer tight.

Good news on Stargate.......I plan to view very soon.

I found it at my local CC last night. What a GORGEOUS picture! I was only able to spot-check it last night but I found that:

The colors are MUCH better than any SD-DVD out there.
The outdoor scenes are amazing! This is what TFE should have looked like.
The indoor scenes show more of the film grain. That's expected.
The sound was very good too. I saw this in DTS when it was released and I was very impressed with the scenes I watched.

I'll have to really sit with this one over the weekend and watch it from beginning to end.

Some of the sfx should look noticeably worse. They were done with 'cheap' HD equipment.
