according to scifi.com

"A casting call has gone out for the role of Lois Lane, Clark Kent's future love interest, who will reportedly appear in four episodes of the WB series Smallville, according to Kryptonsite. The fan site reported that a twenty-something Lois Lane will travel to Smallville in search of her cousin, Chloe Sullivan (series regular Allison Mack). Lois is described in the casting breakdown as "Caucasian, smart, beautiful, urban, headstrong, and no-nonsense."

Producers are also looking for a young actor to play a new character named Jason Teague, a college student at Metropolis University who will become a regular cast member. There is no word yet on which actors or actresses are being considered for the two roles. Smallville will begin filming its fourth season in Vancouver, B.C. in July"

So this ends ALL rumors that Chloe is Lois. Thank god.

Sorry Patrick, but how is this considered spoilers? It's nothing that won't be HEAVILY advertised beforehand like the Swan episode. Just wondering?

Ok, I just wanted to make sure I didn't do something wrong in posting that. Thanks.

Yeah, I saw this too. Bummer. It's always more fun to speculate than be provided with answers.

At least it looks like they're going to find a way to give Lois an interest in journalism now.

So, let the casting game begin. Who's your pick for Lois?

I'm sort of bummed because they'd already used one of my picks in an earlier episode of Smallville:

Missy Peregrym - formerly of Black Sash fame, and played Molly in "Delete" as the brainy gal working for the slimey doctor.

We know that Sam Jones III is gone from the show, but has Kristin Kreuk left as well?

Why so surprised, Ray? They hardly ever gave him more than a couple of lines for most of the last two seasons. It was a running joke over at TWoP. Besides, we're talking about The WB here, where the initials might as well stand for "White Bread." Personally, I would have gotten rid of Lana, but that darned legacy demands otherwise.

I just watched the first four eps of Season 1 (rented the first DVD). Does the show get better after this? It was chock full of monster-of-the-week and teen angst stereotypes?

The first 11 or 12 are of the monster-of-the-week variety in season one, but then it gets going pretty good until the season finale. The second season is better. The 3rd season sort of went all over the place, some good, some bad, some so-so.
