Setting up new AVR, Blu-Ray to Non-ARC TV (1 Viewer)

Hi, total beginner here so forgive me if I make no sense! I have a new Marantz SR6013 and I want to connect it to my non-ARC TV HDMI. I am also connecting a Blu-Ray and my DirecTV. Again, I have HDMI but it is not ARC. If I use a Digital Audio Cable, from my TV to the AVR, will all sound come through the receiver for anything I plug into the TV's HDMI's? Or do I run Blu-Ray, DirectTV straight into the AVR? Thanks to anyone who can help!

Connect all your devices to the Marantz with hdmi, then hdmi out to the TV. The receiver is the command center of the system, not the TV.
