It will be 20,000 units. 7000 will be issued with the exclusive poster/litho from Shout Factory's website, and 13,000 standard editions for retailers.

That makes a lot more sense in terms of what's selling and why - perhaps down the road, the standard edition will either go on sale to a price point that makes sense for me, or will remain in stock long enough for me to be in a position to get it at regular price. I'm glad that I don't seem to have to commit to buying or not buying it today.

Since they are not using the 3D Film Archive to do the 3D restoration, they should hire whoever did the other version.

All I know is for the greater majority of purchasers, the disc for Part III 3D will likely end up as a coaster.

Yep. They're sourced from a VHS tape that special effects man Carl Fullerton had kept but the fans will finally get to see the footage.

Why did Shout not included 3D glasses for Part 3? They included them for Amityville 3-D in their Amityville Horror Collection set, so why not included them for this release as well.

Near as I can tell, there is no anaglyph version for Part III so glasses aren't needed.

I read about this recently, being that I'm always checking out what Scream! has in store. Have a bunch of titles from them in my collection already, and have a list of many more I want.

I remember when there was all that hoopla about Paramount's DVD box set of From Crystal Lake to Manhattan when it came out, and I purchased that package on release day. I still watch the discs in it, believe it or not, and the films don't upscale all that badly on the Blu-ray players I've watched them on (since moving beyond the DVD player days).

As a fan who grew up with Paramount's original franchise releases in this series -- I think it went into the proverbial toilet after New Line acquired the "Jason" name -- I never saw a need to upgrade my DVD set to any of the myriad of Blu-ray collections that came out over the years (because they mostly grouped together ALL of these films, like Scream's release); as it stands, I own Freddy vs Jason on standalone DVD (which looks and sounds fine via New Line's Platinum Edition version) as well as the 2009 Platinum Dunes remake of Friday the 13th (which I actually wasn't bothered by too much) on Blu-ray.

I have zero interest in ever owning Jason X or Jason Goes to Hell, so I think I'll stick with my DVD box set and the odd sequels/remake on either DVD or Blu; if Scream! decided to offer a "non-deluxe" box set of, say, just the Paramount titles in the franchise, something like what was done for the Halloween set that came out, I may consider that.

But as an avid enthusiast with a passion for keeping physical media alive, I give Shout/Scream a huge round of applause for offering this package to adoring fans (it's also a bit out of budget for us right now). It's also great to see some of the uncut material being presented, finally.

The TV section not so much, but I know a lot of 4K Blu-ray players today (well, whatever is left on the market) come equipped with 3D support, believe it or not. The Oppo 203 does, as well as its Cambridge Audio clone, the CXUHD (which I owned), as do the Panasonics (the UB9000 I own now has 3D support).

I have a 3D LG set and a 3D Sony front projector. I’m basically buying this set for the 3D version of Friday 3 since I already have most of the movies on Blu.

To my eyes, the regular 2D version of the third film -- one of the best in the series, no doubt -- on DVD, at least, was always one of the worst-looking of all of them. Print damage galore, dust, softness and a VHS-esque quality to it that was always offputting (it's also the only one in the original Paramount franchise to exhibit a scope widescreen presentation with letterboxing, if my memory isn't failing me).
