You’ve heard the rumors and they are true: Scream Factory – with collaboration from Paramount Studios and New Line Cinema - is releasing the FRIDAY THE 13TH COLLECTION (DELUXE EDITION) Blu-ray set with a planned release of October 13th!

We’re honored and beyond excited to have the chance to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the original 1980 classic in a big way. And rest assured, we will do our absolute best to make this the most definitive release ever of this iconic franchise. We genuinely love it just as much as you!

Here’s the details we can give you at this time:

• This is a Region A (U.S. & Canada) release.

• Housed in new collectible rigid slipcover case and packed with hours and hours of new and existing special features, this 16-disc set includes all 12 films: Friday the 13th (1980), Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981), Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984), Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985), Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988), Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989), Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993), Jason X (2001), Freddy vs. Jason (2003) and Friday the 13th (Remake) (2009).

• Each film inside the slipcover packaging will receive a dedicated Blu-ray case featuring original theatrical artwork. (Similar to how we presented Halloween, The Omen, The Fly and Critters boxsets.) Some films in the set will have reversible sleeves with alternative cover art, giving you the option to swap them around.

• New & existing extras from prior home entertainment releases are in progress and will be revealed in full on a later date. (The COVID situation prevented us from getting everything finalized before today’s announce.) What we can confirm at present can be found listed on our product page here: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/friday-the-13th-collection-deluxe-edition?product_id=7444 . Some highlights include two bonus discs packed with extras, an exclusive 40pg collectible essay booklet with archival still photography, and new 4K film transfers for Friday the 13th (1980) (Both theatrical & unrated versions), Friday the 13th Part 2, Friday the 13th Part 3 (in 2D – and, FINALLY, presented in real 3D), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter and Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (both theatrical and unrated versions).

• Only 13,000 units of the set are being made. Expect pre-order pages to go up soon from your favorite online retailers.

• **SPECIAL SHOUT FACTORY WEBSITE ONLY OFFER**: However, if you order directly from us @ https://www.shoutfactory.com/product/friday-the-13th-collection-deluxe-edition?product_id=7444you will receive the boxset, an exclusive limited edition 36" x 24" rolled lithograph featuring the new slipcase artwork from artist Devon Whitehead, and an exclusive limited edition 24” x 36” Friday the 13th 40th Anniversary rolled poster featuring new artwork from artist Joel Robinson. It's nice, but I think I'll probably wait for the smaller slim-down version like Scream did with the Halloween series.

OK so i originally got the tin Paramount put out, and picked up Crystal Lake Memories along the way, great documentary that shout should have added to this, the big box i am OK with, one thing will make this an instant purchase, Friday the 13th Part 3D, in real 3D, not color anaglyphic

The 3D version of 3 is a big surprise - I’ve never seen any other F13 movie and to be honest it’s not usually my cup of tea but that 3D movie is so over the top fun I might be tempted to bite.
Same here, although Bob Furmanek is posting on another site that he doesn’t know who did the 3-D work and has no idea if the vertical misalignment and left/right lens distortions have been corrected.

I'd recommend that anyone only really interested in the 3-D wait to hear about it before spending the money. There's 13,000 copies of the sets so I can't imagine them selling out that quickly. I'm a massive fan of these admittedly goofy movies (the first 8 anyway) so I have no problem pre-ordering.

I guess its nice to have a non-anaglyph version of Part III on disc at last...even though the market for said format didn't need Jason to kill it.

Oh yeah, only care about the first film so I'll wait on a separate release,

I’m sold! I never got that tin set from several years ago and recently look up how expensive they are on eBay. VERY glad this is coming, and with a bunch of new commentaries to boot!

As a follow up to this, Shout just announced that they were changing the number of lithographs from 1,313 copies to 7,000 (!) so they must be burning through their copies. Also, that only leaves 6,000 available to Amazon, etc. so not to set off panic buying but this may sell faster than I expected.

It's listed as a new 3-D version, but doesn't specifically say Blu-ray 3-D as opposed to a new anaglyph version, unless I overlooked it somewhere. Folks in the comments seem to indicate it's the real deal. Fingers crossed. And maybe for individual releases for folks that don't need or want the whole set.

I see that the press release confirms it is an actual 3-D blu-ray.

Now, let's just hope it's good 3-D work.

I'm not holding my breath for a real Blu Ray of this title but I hope they do the right thing. It's been long enough and I don't know anyone who enjoys the anaglyph version. Regardless of what is released, I won't be getting rid of my original 35mm 3D print which looks great. My print still has about 75% of it's color. To me it's a keeper. There were some alignment issues with the original 3D work but when I switched over my 3D lens from polarized to Dolby filters, most of those issues disappeared. The worse alignment issue on the original film print was the scene where the rat walked out toward the camera with Edna looking on. With whatever process Dolby developed for 3D (color spectrum) it got completely rid of that error as well as others.
I've got all the Friday BD's I want so I'll wait and hope the part 3 will be released by itself and only if it's the REAL thing.

I think this is going to sell out rather quickly. I mean if RAD(1986) can sell all 12,000 limited copies in a few short days, I would expect at least as much from this popular 80's series.
