I apologize ahead of time for this question, but for some reason my brain does not want to function. I have speaker wire that has two colors, a dark red and a silver color. The red color is positive and the silver is negative, correct???

Thanks

Yup.

Now someone will post and say it doesn't matter, as long as it's consistent....

But reddish = positive.

I wonder about speaker wire with different color strands for each lead.

What's up with that?

Well it does not really matter as long as the colors match the red and black connectors on the amp and speaker on both ends.

if the wire has any writing on it, it'll (probably) only be on one side or the other. you can also use that as an indicator.

as already stated, just be consistent and you'll be fine.
