Which of the following, in your opinion, is the best all around subwoofer and why? No tube please, I do not like that design.
1. Audire Rava
2. HSU VT-2
3. Aperion Audio SW 12/250

Any opinions or recommendations would be appreciated.

You need to help us out with more information about your room size, if you will be using the sub for music, HT, or both, etc. You might also want to try a search. There are tons of threads about the Rava and the VTF2.

The room size is 12' x 18', my main speakers are Magnepan MMG with a Denon 3802 receiver, and I'll be using the system primarily for music with some HT use.

I am not familiar with the Aperion sub and so, maybe others will help out there. The Rava sounds like a better fit than the VTF2 based on your room size and usage. Here is a review of the Rava that may help you out:

I can't think of a better sub for MMGs than the Rava, especially for your intended usage. It's a combo I've recommended in the past.

I agree with Jack. The sealed alignment of the Rava should integrate with the MMG's better than the ported Hsu and PR'ed Aperion.
