what exactly does that 25hz 3 ports, 20 hz 2 ports and 16hz 1 port stuff mean exactly?

Im an idiot so your gonna have to explain it like your talkin to your wife or somethin.

While I'm no SVS expert here's how it works AFAIK,

The multiple ported SVS designs are set up to allow different tuning frequencies. Do not confuse tuning freq. with how low the sub will play. Tuning certainly affects how low it will play, but just because the sub is tuned to 25 Hz doesn't mean it won't play below that....just that the output rolls off quicker below the tuning frequency.

In the all 3 ports open configuration, the SVS is tuned to 25Hz. Plug one port and the box is now tuned to 20 cycles. Plug another port and it drops to 16 Hz. The tradeoff is as you plug ports, max output will drop while gaining a little extra low end extension.
